Sports

 

Sports is an important part of our school life. Fortunately, we have willing parents and staff who coach and manage teams for Saturday competitions for Netball. There are numerous sports clubs in the township of Ngaruawahia and many of our children also affiliate with them for Saturday sport as well.

 

Swimming

Swimming is part of our Physical Education Curriculum and all children are required to participate unless they have a note from parents/caregivers excusing them on medical grounds. The swimming season usually commences toward the end of November and finishes early April.

Inter School Sports  |  Cultural Activities

These are held throughout the year with other schools in Ngaruawahia township. Currently our Middle School and Senior School student’s interschool sporting activities include: swimming, touch, netball, athletics, soccer, hockey, kopapa and cross country. The school provides a sport shirt for students.

Kapa Haka

The school has a Kapa Haka Roopu “Mana Te Tuatahi” which consists of Yr 5 – Y5 8 students. This roopu perform at special events.

Sports Camp
Whanake hub, Years 6-8, attend Sports Camp at Totara Springs Camp annually, in September.
