I count it such a privilege to be the tumuaki at Te Kura o Ngaruawahia, a privilege I don’t take for granted. We have a rich history of being a provider of education in this area, 153 years in fact. Our school values of Manamotuhake, Manaakitanga, Kotahitanga and Whakapiringatanga are at the forefront of all we do and make up part of our graduate profile. We believe these values set tamariki up to be successful in all areas of life, as they move onto their next chapter in whatever they choose to do.
Te Kura o Ngaruawahia has an innovative and passionate staff, who have a wealth of knowledge and experiences, which enable them to mold the next generation of life-long learners.
Our teaching practice focuses on being Relational, Responsive, Relevant and Reflective, which puts akonga at the center of all that we do. Our mission statement of “providing effective learning opportunities that allow ALL learners to achieve their full potential” drives us to create and develop a local curriculum that provides hononga for akonga to learn their whakapapa and to feel proud of our local history.
We are on a new journey and are committed to creating a learning environment that is inclusive of everyone’s strengths and talents. None of this happens without the strong partnership and support between home and kura. This partnership is vital for the success of each of our akonga and so we commit to whanaungatanga to support learning and behaviour. Communication is key.
Nau mai haere mai to all. We would love you to be a part of this exciting next step in our history. Come have a look around. Welcome to our place.
Noho ora mai
